NVIDIA FORCEWARE v61.76 REVIEW

FORCEWARE

In this article we will compare the recently released v61.76 drivers to the previous 50 series releases. We have used a wide range of games which include titles like:- unreal tournament 2004, serious sam second encounter, comanche4, x2 the threat, unreal 2, postal 2, desert rats v afrika korps, far cry, colin mcrae rally 04, painkiller and haegemonia legions of iron. I think we have succeeded in testing the drivers with a good range of different types of games both new and old.

COMMENT - "Unreal Tournament 2004 performance was very close and there was no clear winner. Serious Sam SE performance was also very close apart from the 2fps difference with the Elephant Atrium demo. Comanche4 ran worst using the 56.72 drivers but only by between and 1 or 2 fps. X2 The Threat showed a fairly big difference and the 53.03 drivers outperformed the latest 61.76 drivers by 6fps. Unreal 2 The Awakening also performed best using the 53.03 drivers but this time only by 2fps. Postal 2 performed best with either the 56.72 or 61.76 drivers by 2fps. Desert Rats vs Afrika Korps performed best with the 53.03 drivers outperforming the 56.72 and 61.76 drivers by 4fps. Far Cry performed best using the 56.72 drivers and the worst was the 53.03 drivers which was 6fps slower than the 56.72 drivers. Colin Mcrae Rally 04 performed best with the latest 61.76 drivers which finished 9fps faster than the 53.03 drivers. Painkiller also performed best using the 61.76 drivers which finished 3fps ahead of the 56.72 drivers. Haegemonia Legions of Iron performed best on the older 53.03 and 56.72 drivers and they finished 4fps ahead of the latest 61.76 drivers. It was a very close result with the 53.03 and 56.72 drivers both scoring 1536 points, the 61.76 drivers performed slightly worse scoring 1530 points or 1% slower."
