COMMENT - "The OCUK ATI Radeon 9700 Pro and MSI GeForce 5900 XT both offer very similar performance in both the 3dmark 2001 SE and 3dmark 2003 benchmarks. The shocking result is the very poor 3dmark 2005 result for the MSI GeForce 5900 XT, the OCUK ATI Radeon 9700 Pro delivers a HUGE 51% performance increase which is very impressive. 3dmark 2005 is a DX9 (ie PS2.0) only program and as shown in the Rightmark test the MSI GeForce 5900 XT offers very poor DX9 performance."

COMMENT - "The MSI GeForce 5900 XT does quite well with the basic DX7 tests and even managed to beat the OCUK ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. The Nature test is the most demanding and is the most important because it uses Pixel Shaders. With the Nature test the OCUK ATI Radeon 9700 Pro delivers a nice 17% performance increase over the MSI GeForce 5900 XT."
