GENERAL SYSTEM INFORMATION
QUAKE III ARENA
MSI NX 6600 GT VTD128 MSI GEFORCE 5900 XT OCUK ATI RADEON 9700 PRO SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9600 XT
COMMENT - "The high quality setting is very cpu limited so all of the video cards deliver atlast 300 frames per second. As we increase the image quality settings the other three video cards start to fall away when Quake 3 Arena becomes less cpu limited and more video card limited. Using extreme quality which uses 4x anti-aliasing and 8x anisotropic filtering the MSI NX 6600 GT shows what it can really do and delivers a 26% performance increase over the other video cards."

SCRAPLAND
MSI NX 6600 GT VTD128 MSI GEFORCE 5900 XT OCUK ATI RADEON 9700 PRO SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9600 XT
COMMENT - "Scrapland starts off pretty close but with only the MSI NX 6600 GT and OCUK ATI Radeon 9700 Pro delivering performances in the 120's. As the image quality increases all of the video cards start to drift apart and the MSI NX 6600 GT's performance advantage grows to 28%. Notice how the Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600 XT has suddenly overtaken the MSI GeForce 5900 XT to capture 3rd place. Using high quality settings the MSI NX 6600 GT has once again increased it's performance advantage but this time to an amazing 38%."

COMMENT - "The MSI NX 6600 GT runs Serious Sam SE very well and especially using the Elephtant Atrium demo. The Citadel demo is cpu limited which is why all of the video cards results are fairly close together which is why the MSI NX 6600 GT is only 10% faster than the second placed OCUK ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. The Elephant Atrium is more video card limited and the MSI NX 6600 GT is able to deliver a big performance advantage over the second placed MSI GeForce 5900 XT of 31%. The Grand Cathedral demo is another cpu limited demo however the MSI NX 6600 GT is still able to deliver an 12% performance increase over the second placed MSI GeForce 5900 XT which was good."

COMMENT - "X2 the Threat is a game which favours Nvidia video cards rather than ATI so it wasn't unexpected to see both of the two Nvidia based video cards beating the ATI video cards. Although the MSI NX 6600 GT wins it can only offer a modest 8% performance increase over the MSI GeForce 5900 XT."

|
COMMENT - "Here we have added up all of the game benchmark frame rates to produce a score which reflects the video cards performance. The MSI NX 6600 GT offers an 18% performance advantage over the second placed MSI GeForce 5900 XT, 19% performance advantage over the OCUK ATI Radeon 9700 Pro and a 30% performance advantage over the Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600 XT."
|
|
CONCLUSION - "It was a very impressive showing by the MSI NX 6600 GT which usually offered a large performance increase over the MSI GeForce 5900 XT, OCUK ATI Radeon 9700 Pro and the Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600 XT. As expected both the MSI GeForce 5900 XT and OCUK ATI Radeon 9700 Pro both performed pretty much the same with the budget Sapphire ATi Radeon 9600 XT close behind."
