INNO3D GEFORCE 6600 GT REVIEW
"In this article we test the Inno3D GeForce 6600 GT against the MSI GeForce FX 5900 XT, OCUK Radeon 9700 Pro and Sapphire Radeon 9600 XT. The following software was used during testing:- 3DMark 2003, 3DMark 2005, Doom III, Quake III Arena, Scrapland, Serious Sam 2 The Second Encounter, Tribes Vengeance, Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War, X2 The Threat and Xpand Rally!"
GENERAL SYSTEM INFORMATION
INNO3D 6600 GT MSI 5900 XT OCUK 9700 PRO SAPPHIRE 9600 XT
COMMENT - "This is the first real game featured in this review and it's the excellent id software first person shooter Doom 3. It is a well known fact that Doom 3 performs much better on Nvidia rather than ATI hardware, if you look at the Inno3D GeForce 6600 GT results you will have no doubts that Doom3 is best played on Nvidia hardware. The other video cards perform pretty similar however the Inno3D GeForce 6600 GT is miles ahead. Using low quality settings the Inno3D GeForce 6600 GT is 30% faster at lower quality settings, at medium settings it's lead is increased to 40% and at high quality it is still 25% faster. The reason for the 40% performance increase over the other video cards at medium settings is because all of the advanced special fx have been enabled apart from shadows and the Inno3D GeForce 6600 GT is able to render them much faster than the other video cards."

INNO3D 6600 GT MSI 5900 XT OCUK 9700 PRO SAPPHIRE 9600 XT
COMMENT - "Here we have another very well known id software game called Quake 3 Arena, compared to Doom 3 this game is pretty ancient and should perform very well on all of the video cards featured. High quality is very cpu limited and the Inno3D GeForce 6600 GT is only able to outpace the other video cards by 10%, this rises to 12% using ultra high quality and then to 29% using extreme quality. INNO3D 6600 GT MSI 5900 XT OCUK 9700 PRO SAPPHIRE 9600 XT
COMMENT - "This is the first of the games which do not have any benchmark tools built in so we have to use fraps. Using the more cpu limited low quality setting the results are fairly close together so the Inno3D GeForce 6600 GT is only 8% faster than the Radeon 9700 Pro. The Inno3D GeForce 6600 GT increases it's performance advantage to 18% using medium settings and then to a further 28% performance advantage with the all important high quality setting."

COMMENT - "Just like Quake 3 Arena this is another older game which is still very popular, it was made by Croteam and we will continue to use Serious Sam Second Encounter until Serious Sam 2 is released sometime in 2005. All of the video cards offer playable performance with this game and the Inno3D GeForce 6600 GT delivers between a 17% to 36% increase in performance depending on which benchmark demo is used."
