BFG GEFORCE 6600 GT OC REVIEW

"BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC (Overclocked for higher performance) review also featuring the XFX GeForce 6600 GT (PCIE), MSI GeForce 6600 GT (AGP) and the Leadtek GeForce 6600 (PCIE) which has been included for comparison to the GeForce 6600 GT video cards. Software used for benchmarking was:- 3dmark 2001 SE, 3dmark 2003, 3dmark 2005 and 3dmark 2006."
BFG GEFORCE 6600 GT OC

BFG GEFORCE 6600 GT OC SPECIFICATIONS

The BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC is a PCI Express™ video card running at 525Mhz (vs 500Mhz on a standard GeForce 6600 GT) with 128MB GDDR3 memory running at 1050Mhz (vs 1000Mhz on a standard GeForce 6600 GT), it has a 400Mhz RAMDAC, connectors for Dual DVI-I, HDTV S-Video Out and a massive 16.8GB/second memory bandwidth.

BFG's Overclocked GeForce 6600 GT is the only Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT in this review which is advertised as higher than standard core and memory clock speed. The 25Mhz core and 50Mhz memory clock speed increase will not deliver a huge increase in performance but should give the BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC the required speed to beat the other video cards in this review.

The BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC has an eight pipe superscalar design, and features the only GPU in its class that supports Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 Shader Model 3.0. The BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC will support NVIDIA’s SLI™ multi-GPU technology in a PCI Express-based system.

COMMENT - "The BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC starts off strongly with 3dmark 2001 SE beating the XFX GeForce 6600 GT by 2% and the MSI GeForce 6600 GT by 5%. 3dmark 2003 is an even better result for the BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC and it beats XFX GeForce 6600 GT by 4% and the MSI GeForce 6600 GT by 8%. The good results continue with 3dmark 2005 and the BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC once again beats the XFX GeForce 6600 GT by 5% and the MSI GeForce 6600 GT by 9%. 3dmark 2006 really puts alot of stress on all of the video cards tested but the BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC still manages to beat the XFX GeForce 6600 GT by 6% and the MSI GeForce 6600 GT by 8%. The Leadtek GeForce PX6600 is mostly used for a comparison to the more expensive GeForce 6600 GT video cards, compared to the Leadtek GeForce PX6600 the BFG GeForce 6600 GT OC delivers between 24% to 41% more performance with the 3dmark benchmarks."
