COMMENT - "The AMD Athlon II X3 455 is 31% faster than the AMD Phenom II X2 560 with Dragon Age Origins using Normal Quality. It seems that the Level 3 Cache doesn't help the AMD Phenom II X2 560 much with Dragon Age Origins."

AMD ATHLON II X3 455 AMD PHENOM II X2 560

COMMENT - "AMD Athlon II X3 455 is 11% slower than the AMD Phenom II X2 560 with World of Warcraft using Normal Quality. World of Warcraft favours L3 Cache more than Triple Cores."

FINAL RESULT

COMMENT - "It was a fairly close result between the AMD Athlon II X3 455 and AMD Phenom II X2 560 with each winning different benchmarks depending on their individual strengths. For the AMD Athlon II X3 455 it's strength is the extra Core over the two found on the AMD Phenom II X2 560. For the AMD Phenom II X2 560 it's strength advantage is the 6mb Level 3 Cache which as you can see helped especially with the World of Warcraft Game. With games which favour more than 2 Cores then the AMD Athlon II X3 455 has the advantage which was seen with Dragon Age Origins. In the future (also in some games which are available now) games will need more than two cores and probably more than 3 but as they say three is better than two. From previous reviews it has been seen that only having three cores doesn't hurt performance with most games when compared to four cores. The power requirement is important to some users and in this regard the AMD Athlon II X3 455 has a 16% lower idle and 2% less load power usage compared to the AMD Phenom II X2 560. With general use the AMD Athlon II X3 455 is 20% faster than the AMD Phenom II X2 560 and with gaming the AMD Athlon II X3 455 is 31% faster than the AMD Phenom II X2 560 thanks to Dragon Age Origins. To judge the winner we are going to use best value for money and the AMD Athlon II X3 455 is 18% cheaper than the AMD Phenom II X2 560 which makes the AMD Athlon II X3 455 the winner."

AMD ATHLON II X3 455 SCORES 10/10!

AMD PHENOM II X2 560 SCORES 8/10!
