"We are benchmarking the AMD Phenom II X2 560 CPU against the AMD Phenom II X4 955 CPU. The AMD Phenom II X2 560 is clocked at 3300Mhz and the AMD Phenom II X4 955 is clocked at 3200Mhz. An advantage for the AMD Phenom II X2 560 is the 6MB Level 3 Cache which is the same for the AMD Phenom II X4 955. We will be using Benchmarks for testing the AMD Phenom II X2 560 and AMD Phenom II X4 955 which are:- Cinebench, Everest, Geekbench, Novabench and Nuclearus. Games are Hawk 2 and Lost Planet 2. It will be an interesting fight between the Dual Core AMD Phenom II X2 560 and the Quad Core AMD Phenom II X4 955. It's going to be an interesting fight but the AMD Phenom II X4 955 has all of the aces."

FINAL RESULTCOMMENT - "The AMD Phenom II X2 560 gave some solid performances against the AMD Phenom II X4 955. It was a case of Dual Core vs Quad Core with the AMD Phenom II X2 560 having a 4% Clock Speed Advantage. Unfortunately for the AMD Phenom II X2 560 it's performance was sometimes upto 49% slower than the AMD Phenom II X4 955 so yes Quad Core does matter. Even with Gaming the AMD Phenom II X4 955 showed why it's considered one of the best Quad Cores CPUs to own. To sum up the AMD Phenom II X2 560 was outperformed by the AMD Phenom II X4 955 by 42% with CPU Intensive Applications. With Games the AMD Phenom II X2 560 was outperformed by the AMD Phenom II X4 955 by 20%. However the AMD Phenom II X2 560 costs over 31% less than the AMD Phenom II X4 955 which makes the AMD Phenom II X2 560 very good value for money." |
