"We are testing the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T processor against the Intel Core i5 2500k processor. The AMD Phenom II X6 1100T is clocked at 3300Mhz and the Intel Core i5 2500k is clocked at 3300Mhz. We will be using Benchmarks for testing the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T and Intel Core i5 2500k which are:- Divx, Povray, Sysmark 2007, Windows Media Encoder, Dragon Age Origins and World of Warcraft. The AMD Phenom II X6 1100T has the same 3300Mhz clock speed as the Intel Core i5 2500k and both have 6MB L3 Cache. The AMD Phenom II X6 1100T also has 6 Cores compared to the 4 found on the Intel Core i5 2500k. It's going to be an interesting fight between the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T and Intel Core i5 2500k."

FINAL RESULTCOMMENT - "The AMD Phenom II X6 1100T delivered some reliable performances against the Intel Core i5 2500k from Intel. Using general pc use the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T was 4% slower than the Intel Core i5 2500k. Using games the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T was 29% slower than the Intel Core i5 2500k for a poor result. The AMD Phenom II X6 1100T is priced only 4% cheaper than the Intel Core i5 2500k which makes the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T poor value for it's performance which was usually worse than the Intel Core i5 2500k. If you ask us the increase of 29% with games and lower power use makes the Intel Core i5 2500k the clear winner. It's not all doom and gloom for the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T because it's every day General Computer Performance was ok." |
