"This is a review of the earlier AMD Athlon64 4000 San Diego processor compared to the newer AMD Athlon64 X2 4200 Manchester. How much better is Dual Core Technology compared to 2.4Ghz found on the AMD Athlon64 4000? We will be testing both the AMD Athlon64 4000 and AMD Athlon64 X2 4200 using real games and benchmarks to test all aspects of cpu use. The AMD Athlon64 4000 was tested with Aquamark3 and a collection of games."

COMMENT - "The Athlon64 X2 4200 wins all of these Games Benchmarks thanks to it's use of Dual Core Technology. The Athlon64 X2 4200 beats the Athlon64 4000 by 3 Fps with Crysis, 18 Fps with Doom 3, 27 Fps with Lost Planet, 43 Fps with Prey, 10 Fps with Serious Sam 2, 3 Fps with Supreme Commander and 14% with World in Conflict. I had expected the Athlon64 X2 4200 to wipe the floor with the Athlon64 4000 but the result was closer than I expected. The extra 200 Mhz and 1MB L2 Cache really helped the Athlon64 4000 to deliver playable Gaming."
