"The Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 uses Barts GPU at 775Mhz and has 1GB GDDR5 memory running at 4000Mhz. The Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 has a 256Bit Memory Interface, 960 Shader Processors and DirectX 11. The Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 is reviewed against it's Nvidia rival the Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic so here are some Specifications. The Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic uses GF104 GPU at 700Mhz and has 1GB GDDR5 memory running at 3600Mhz. The Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic has a 256Bit Memory Interface, 336 Shader Processors and DirectX 11. Software used for testing was 3dmark 2006, 3dmark Vantage, 3dmark 11, Call of Duty Black Ops, Crysis Warhead and Hawk 2."

FINAL RESULTCOMMENT - "It was a very strong performance from the Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 and the Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic. The Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 has some major strengths such as the 960 Shader Processors which was superior to the Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic with it's 336 Shader Processors. The Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic also has strengths such as the excellent Tessellation performance and Physx. The Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic keeps the Fan at 30% which keeps the GPU at a modest 39c and keeps the noise at a low level. Earlier versions of the Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic were noisier than the later versions which we are using for this review of the Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic. The Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 is well known for being very cool, quiet and power efficent. The Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic is a very good video card, offering all of the latest Nvidia Technology, operates at a low level of noise and temperature. If you want state of the art gaming at a budget then the Palit GeForce GTX 460 Sonic is the one to get because it offers better gaming performance when compared to the Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 but the difference is usually fairly small." |
