(01/07) S3 GRAPHICS REVIEWS AT ULTIMATE HARDWARE - "Collection of S3 Graphics Chrome S27, Chrome S25, Chrome S18, Gammachrome, Deltachrome, Savage 2000, Savage4 and Savage3D reviews."

(01/07) WINDOWS VISTA AERO GLASS PERFORMANCE HIT IN GAMES AT FIRINGSQUAD - "Windows Vista is visually stunning, offering plenty of eye candy, bells and whistles to users of this new operating system. Most of the desktop in Windows Vista utilizes DirectX 9 to render the graphics, while games can either be played with DirectX 9 or the newest addition to the family, DirectX 10."

(01/07) WINDOWS VISTA'S NEW SPIN ON LICENSING TECHREPORT - "WE'VE HEARD ALL MANNER of tinfoil hattery about Windows Vista's schemes for copy protection, which have prompted the usual round of threats from the usual quarters about how Vista will usher in an OS apocalypse and techies will migrate en masse to Linux. The more realistic types are mostly talking about simply staying camped out with Windows XP for the time being while eying the MacOS world with some curiosity. I'm not onboard with the more paranoid visions of the Vista future, but I do think the uneasiness about Microsoft's plans for Vista has some warrant."

(01/07) AMD ATHLON64 X2 3600+ 65nm BRISBANE CORE REVIEW AT AMDZONE - "Late last year AMD announced that they were shipping 65nm Athlon 64 parts to customers. It was not possible to find a part on the street, but AMD did send out some review samples. Now in late January chips are finally coming available with the X2 3600+ the first out of the gate followed by the X2 4000+. We will look at both chips, but first we have this brief overclocking test of the X2 3600+ with stock cooling to see how the new 65nm Brisbane core really performs."

(01/07) BFGTECH GEFORCE 8800 GTX WATER COOLED EDITION REVIEW AT HARDOCP - "We take a look at what BFGTech's 8800 GTX Water Cooled Edition delivers in terms of cooling performance and system security. Are 150 watt video cards forcing water cooling into the mainstream? If you are considering 8800 SLI you need to read this."

(01/07) AMD ATHLON 64 X2 5000+ EE REVIEW AT TRUSTED REVIEWS - "Brisbane is quite an important CPU for AMD in many respects, because the company’s next-generation K8L processor is going to be manufactured on the same 65 nanometre Silicon On Insulator process. Between now and the time when AMD launches its native quad-core processor, AMD will work to make the process as mature as possible by the time the new architecture is ready to launch."

(01/07) ASUS EAX1950PRO CROSSFIRE REVIEW AT ELITEBS - "It doesn't seem like nearly three months since we first reviewed ASUS' EAX1950PRO graphics board, but incredibly it was not far off exactly that long ago. For some time now, we've actually had two of these boards in our possession here at Elite Bastards, with the second part being ASUS' CrossFire Edition variant, complete with the two internal bridge connectors required by new ATI boards for a multi-GPU configuration."

(01/07) XFX FATAL1TY GEFORCE 7600GT REVIEW AT HWUPGRADE - "XFX has decided on developing a series of video cards, based on the NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT, marketed under the Fatal1ty brand name. These video cards are targeted at midrange PC gamers. To fit this market segment, XFX has designed its video card with different technical and aesthetic features compared to other cards based on the same GPU. To make sure its product differs from competitors, XFX is shipping the Fatal1ty 7600GT with the GPU and memory both factory overclocked. The core is shipped at a frequency of 650 MHz, compared to the 560 MHz of NVIDIA’s default speeds. The 256 MB of memory is clocked at 1,600 MHz, 200 MHz faster than the default 1,400 MHz. "

(01/07) SAPPHIRE ULTIMATE X1950 PRO PCIE REVIEW AT DRIVER HEAVEN - "A while back we reviewed the Power Color X1950 Pro Extreme card at Driver Heaven, which proved to be a very good performing mid-sector card with quiet and efficient cooling. Now the time has come to its Sapphire counter part The Sapphire Ultimate X1950 Pro. We will see if this card lives up to the “ultimate” moniker."

(01/07) FOXCONN GEFORCE 8800 GTX REVIEW AT AMDZONE - "Inside the box Foxconn does away with the traditional game software bundle in favor of a better hardware bundle including a free dual-analog gamepad comparable to Sony's PS2 controllers. The gamepad works great and it is a nice diversion from the norm of a game bundle as some either have or don't want any game software included and a gamepad can always come in handy. The software bundle consists of drivers for the card and restoration software and also virtual drive software from Foxconn. Two pieces of software which could come in handy for everyone with a PC and are again an interesting change of pace."

(01/07) JETWAY J7F3E1750 REVIEW AT EPIACENTER - "In this article we're looking at the Jetway "J7F3" - more specifically the "J7F3E1750" which comes with a AMD GeodeNX 1750 (1.4GHz) processor. The board is also available with the NX1750's smaller brethrens such as the GeodeNX 1250 (667MHz) (as the "J7F3E1250LV") and the GeodeNX 1500 (1GHz) ("JF3E1500LV")."

(01/07) ECS GEFORCE6100SM-M REVIEW AT HARDWARE SECRETS - "ECS GeForce6100SM-M is one a socket AM2 motherboard with on-board video, based on the latest version of GeForce 6100 chipset from nVidia, MCP61S. Costing very little and targeted to the entry-level market, we were very curious to compare its performance to its main competitor, Radeon Xpress 1100 from ATI, and also to cheap add-in video cards, like GeForce 6200. Let’s see how GeForce6100SM-M performs."

(01/07) NEW PROTOTYPE S3 CHROME DRIVER AT CHROMEZONE - "Here is a small portion of the fix list for this driver: Ground Control 2-Operation Exodus corruption issues. Prey: Flickering Textures when running MultiChrome. Titan Quest: Garbage lines in the menu system when you turn on Anti-Aliasing. Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse now runs correctly. Battlefield 2142 Sky Corruption issue. New Games added to MultiChrome: Battlefield 2142. Flatout 2. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. TrackMania Nations. F.E.A.R. Multiplayer. F.E.A.R. Extraction Point."

(01/07) MSI P965 PLATINUM AND 975X PLATINUM REVIEW AT TECHREPORT - "WHEN INTEL UNVEILED its P965 Express chipset at Computex, many were left wondering if any motherboard manufacturers would bother building boards based on the older 975X Express. The P965 was a newer design—one built on fancier 90nm process technology—and its ICH8-series south bridge chips offered a more advanced array of features than the 975X's year-old ICH7s. At the time, motherboard makers questioned whether they'd bother building 975X boards for enthusiasts, and they seemed to be leaning toward making high-end boards based on the P965."

(01/07) FOXCONN GEFORCE 7950GT REVIEW AT BJORN3D - "For those enthusiasts waiting for the prices on the new G80 hardware to come down or those holding out to see what ATI (and NVIDIA) has to offer early next year, but who still need a graphics card that can power their games for the interim, then cheaper but still powerful cards such as the 7950GT might easily suffice as a holdover until then. When the market eventually becomes inundated with DX10 graphic cards this coming Spring, availability is not certain but high introductory prices certainly are. Not everyone can or is willing to wait until the dust settles and prices on DX10 parts reach normal levels, especially those who may very shortly be receiving some new PC games under the Christmas tree!"
