(09/07) ATI RADEON HD 2900 PRO DETAILS AT ULTIMATE HARDWARE - "600MHz Core, 512MB 1600MHz GDDR3 Memory, 320 Stream Processors and Crossfire Ready!"

(09/07) AMD ATHLON64 4200 X2 MANCHESTER REVIEW AT ULTIMATE HARDWARE - "AMD Athlon64 X2 4200 Manchester processor compared to AMD Athlon64 3500 Venice. Both processors operate at 2.2Ghz and have 512K Level 2 Cache so the results will show the benefits of Dual Core Technology. Benchmark software used includes 3dmark 2005, 3dmark 2006, PC Mark 2005, Nuclearus Multi Core, Lost Planet, X3 Reunion, Doom 3, Quake4 and FarCry etc."

(09/07) HIS RADEON HD 2900 PRO 512MB PREVIEW AT TWEAKTOWN - "We wanted it and now we’ve got it. The HD 2900 PRO has been one of the most talked about products since the release of the HD 2900 series from AMD. Sure the HD 2900 XT offers great value for money these days due to some excellent driver updates from AMD, but the bottom line is that the card still comes in at around $500 AUD or $400 USD meaning that it’s simply out of reach for a lot of people. The particular HD 2900 PRO we have in hand today is the 512MB model from HIS. Before we get stuck into the benchmarks we will have a look at the card and what HIS have managed to do with the package."

(09/07) SAPPHIRE HD RADEON 2600 XT ULTIMATE REVIEW AT AMDZONE - "apphire's HD 2600XT Ultimate doesn't differ from other 2600XT video cards on the market. The card comes clocked in at 800MHz for the GPU core and 1400MHz effective for the 256MB of GDDR3 memory (512MB versions are also available). There are two DVI-I video outputs which support HDCP, one VIVO, and of course the cards support ATI's Avivo HD, for high-definition decoding. What does separate it from the rest and where it gains Sapphire's title of Ultimate is in the cooling which is completely passive. We've looked at a number of passive cards over the years from Sapphire and others and it is one way for a product to stand out in the mid-range market and something near impossible with high-end graphics cards without water cooling."

(09/07) MIDRANGE CPU ROUNDUP: IT'S TIME TO BUY AT ANANDTECH - "Throughout the past few CPU articles we've mentioned that now is an absolutely wonderful time to be building a new system thanks to incredibly competitive CPU prices. The AMD/Intel price war has really paid off in making the marketplace more competitive. The fact that you can buy a very fast quad-core processor for less than $300 is just incredible. At the same time, it's very easy to get caught up in recommending the higher end parts simply because they are priced so low now. AMD's entire Socket-AM2 product lineup can be had for under $300, but we've primarily focused on the $150 - $300 range, when both AMD and Intel have some very powerful CPUs available at or below $100."

(09/07) ENEMY TERRITORY QUAKE WARS PERFORMANCE AT XBIT LABS - "The tactical shooter is a highly popular variety of multiplayer games and it is this genre that the famous id Software is making inroads into with their new game Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. In this review we’ll find out how this game runs on different graphics cards."

(09/07) NVIDIA 8600 VS ATI RADEON HD 2600 REVIEW AT LEGION HARDWARE - "Today we are taking a look at the current generation mid-range graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia. This article features the GeForce 8600 GT/GTS while the Radeon HD 2600XT/Pro will also be included. These affordable graphics cards will be tested in a wide variety of games as we are looking for which solution offers gamers the best bang for their buck."

(09/07) TEAM FORTRESS 2 BETA GPU PERFORMANCE AT AMDZONE - "Team Fortress 2 is coming up on 10 years late. Seriously. Who would have ever thought we would have seen it. Almost two years ago as I visited the Valve offices they presented their new movie like effects for Day of Defeat Source, and during that presentation Gabe joked about Team Fortress 2. Then a couple of months later suddenly the joke had become a product. No offense to DODS, but I would have rather seen Team Fortress 2. Since Tek Republik is a Steam Cafe we stayed up till 5AM last night to get TF2 up and running after many painful delays. Steam Cafe owners and preorder owner for Half Life 2 Episode 2 got an early crack at the game. Finally after hours the preloads were activated, and then we got the dreaded Team Fortress 2 is launching."

(09/07) CRYTEK TALKS UP DX9 LIMITATIONS AT THE INQUIRER - "Crytek has finally weighed in to the DirectX 9 v DirectX 10 debate, spelling out for gamers what the differences in technology will mean for its upcoming PC title."

(09/07) AMD R630 GPU EATS QUADRO G80 FOR BREAKFAST AT THE INQUIRER - "3D Professor, also known to this world as a man with longest signature in a mail (excluding ones that come with non-disclosure contract as big as Nvidia's) got his hands on AMD's latest baby, ATI FireGL V7600, based on R630 GPU. This chip is a full-R600 with half a memory controller, ie. a 256-bit wide one. However, this did not stop the 320 scalar units in the GPU giving Nvidia a serious pounding, especially in Maya. Seeing over 50 per cent performance difference from a 500 quid part was something that we estimated could happen, but it should not have happened. Now, it seems that ATI has a real racer in store."

(09/07) ATI RADEON HD 2900 PRO LISTED AT OVERCLOCKERS.CO.UK - "Pre-order the Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 2900 Pro SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3/1024MB GDDR4 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI or Hightech ATI Radeon HD 2900 Pro SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI."

(09/07) ATI RADEON HD 2600XT VS NVIDIA GEFORCE 8600 GTS REVIEW AT TECHSPOT - "Today we will be comparing these two mid-range graphics cards head to head using a 512MB VisionTek Radeon HD 2600XT and a 256MB ASUS GeForce 8600 GTS. While neither product features overclocking out of the box, the Radeon has an obvious advantage in that it sports twice as much video memory. And while this may appear to be unfair, we have found that the average 512MB Radeon HD 2600XT graphics card retails for just $140, while the average price of a GeForce 8600 GTS sporting 256MB of memory is $160. That said, 512MB versions of the GeForce 8600 GTS are priced at over $200."

(09/07) SAPPHIRE 2600PRO OC, 2600XT AND 2400XT REVIEW AT HOTHARDWARE - "Today, we're going to take a look at three mainstream video cards. The first is the Sapphire HD 2400XT which is an ultra affordable videocard with some solid features. The next two models aim to deliver improved gaming performance while maintaining a respectable pricepoint that can appeal to a broad market, the Sapphire HD 2600Pro OC and the Sapphire HD 2600XT. We'll take a look at each model's feature set and performance to assess how each compares to its competition in the same class. At first the picture may seem conclusive, but as we break everything down at the end, you'll see how framerate came into play to paint a more complete performance picture."

(09/07) JETWAY M2A692-GDG 690G MOTHERBOARD REVIEW AT GURU3D - "Jetway recently released an AMD 690G chipset based mainboard. And as the previous Jetway review revealed, they offer a lot for very little money. Today we'll show you once again a great little mainboard that will give you heaps of performance and functionality at a stunning pricing level."

(09/07) MEDAL OF HONOR : AIRBORNE PERFORMANCE AT LEGION HARDWARE - "Today we are going to test out the 11th installment of the critically acclaimed Medal of Honor series, called Medal of Honor: Airborne. I have to admit that this is actually the first time I have spent more than five minutes looking at a Medal of Honor game. It is not that I have thought past Medal of Honor games have been bad, they just failed to impress or get me hooked within the first few minutes. This and the fact that there appeared to be nothing of real interest for me in past versions, has kept me away from the Medal of Honor series."

(09/07) AMD FIRESTREAM CARD WITH R600 CHIP AT THE INQUIRER - "A first look at AMD's card shows the huge plastic block is covering the heatpipe cooling from the original HD2900XT card, with no fans or plastic different casing. Bear in mind that this design is oriented towards being in a rack chassis, so the only goal of design is to have as much heatsink exposure to the stream of air coming from fans mounted in front of the card."

(09/07) AMD FUSION SPORTS DX10.1 SUPPORTS UVD AT THE INQUIRER - "AMD FUSION WILL hit the market with a bang, at least according to the energetic director of technical marketing for EMEA region. Mr. Giuseppe Amato went into detail about what AMD's up to in the near future, most notably the Torrenza and Fusion processors."

(09/07) QUAKE WARS SPECS REVEALED AT THE INQUIRER - "Splash Damage has managed to keep the hardware requirements to a minimum, despite the upgrades to the Doom 3 engine, which include John Carmack's famed megatexturing algorithms. The demo, released on Monday, requires a mere GeForce FX 5700-class card, with the ATI-heydey card Radeon 9700 the minimum from the red team."

(09/07) NEW ATI CATALYST V7.9 DRIVERS AT AMD-ATI - "Avivo Video Converter for Windows Vista (64-bit) - This release of Catalyst™ introduces the Avivo Video Converter for the Windows Vista (64 bit) operating system. (09/07) AMD QUAD-CORE OPTERON 2300 REVIEW AT TECH REPORT - "Somewhere around mid-morning this past Friday, a rather large package made its way into the depths of Damage Labs. Inside was a server containing something very special: a pair of AMD's new quad-core Opteron processors. The chip code-named "Barcelona" has been something of an enigma during its development, both because of questions about exactly when it would arrive and how it would perform when it did. After a long, hot weekend of non-stop testing, we have some answers to those questions. AMD is formally introducing its Barcelona-based Opteron 2300-series processors today, so the time is now. As for the performance, well, keep reading to see exactly how the new Opterons compare to Intel's quad-core Xeons."

(09/07) AMD QUAD-CORE BARCELONA REVIEW AT ANANDTECH - "A "Simulated 2.6GHz" AMD quad-core would beat the best Intel Xeon by 42%, or so we were told back in March at CeBIT. AMD's latest is a device with 463 million transistors designed to run at a clock speed of at least 2.2GHz, possibly 2.8GHz. Scheduled for launch in the middle of 2007, Intel's best Xeons would be once again in the rearview mirror of their AMD competitors. AMD's third generation Opteron sure looked very promising back in early 2007."

(09/07) POWERCOLOR HD 2600 XT REVIEW AT BJORN3D - "It's been quite hectic lately with these Shader Model 4.0 cards being out. Not only NVIDIA came up as a winner here in terms of availability, the performance of G80 cards was more than standard when compared against R600 boards. The end of June marked AMD's launch of ATI Radeon HD 2600 and 2400 series which were pretty late anyway. Take a note though that mainstream and entry level cards are always overdue and flagship high-end products come first to the game. For todays reading pleasure we have Powercolor HD 2600 XT with 256 MB of onboard 128-bit GDDR3 memory. There is GDDR4 model, but it wasn't available at that time. It may not be a bleeding edge performer, nonetheless it looks like an interesting DirectX® 10 product with HD-ready output."

(09/07) ATI RADEON HD 2900 XT REVIEW AT LEGION HARDWARE - "Using the latest official drivers we put the GeForce 8800 series head to head with the Radeon HD 2900XT in titles such as Bioshock, World in Conflict, Medal of Honour: Airborne and a number of other popular games. This will be our final comparison between these high-end graphics cards, as we eagerly await the next generation of ATI and Nvidia graphics cards."

(09/07) POWERCOLOR RADEON HD 2900 XT 512MB REVIEW AT ELITE - "However, despite all that we all know that a few months can, on occasion, make quite a difference to graphics board performance, as drivers have their kinks ironed out and performance (and features) improved. So, now the Radeon HD 2000 series is a few months old, what better time to revisit ATI's flagship GPU? Our focus today is PowerColor's take on the Radeon HD 2900 XT 512MB, so let's see what (if any) difference a few months can make."

(09/07) GECUBE HD24XTL2-D3 HD 2400XT 256MB REVIEW AT OCW - "The ATI Radeon™ HD 2400XT is a feature-rich upgrade from integrated graphics for an immersive experience with DirectX® 10 gaming and HD video. Connect to big-screen TVs with HDMI port and built-in 5.1 surround sound audio to enjoy Blu-ray™ and HD DVD movies instantly. ATI Catalyst™ graphics configuration software is designed for quick setup and stable operation with Windows Vista™. The GeCube HD24XTL2-D3 is designed based on ATI Radeon HD2400XT series. It comes with an onboard memory of 256MB DDR3. It supports the Unified Superscalar Shader Architecture built-in 120 stream processing units. It supports DX10 and VISTA. The GPU clk of this card is default at 700/750."

(09/07) INSIDE AMD K10 ARCHITECTURE AT HARDWARE SECRETS - "K10 is the name of the new architecture that new processors from AMD will be using, like the forthcoming Phenom and the Opteron based on the much expected “Barcelona” core. In fact, a lot of people are making a big confusion calling K10 architecture as “Barcelona”, while Barcelona is only one of the CPUs that will use this new architecture. In this tutorial we will explain what is new on the K10 architecture and will also present a complete AMD roadmap showing all products based on K10 architecture that are planned so far."

(09/07) GIGABYTE 8500GT TURBO FORCE ULTRA REVIEW AT TWEAKTOWN - "The latest card to get the makeover treatment is the GIGABYTE 8500GT Turbo Force Ultra. The name alone sounds cool and has us so very intrigued, just imagine what the card is going to look like. The 8500GT in base form isn’t the card of choice for a lot of people, while it’s cheap it’s not much of a performer and if you’re not going to game you would find yourself looking at the cheaper again 8400GS. If you do want to do a bit of gaming the extra money is usually worth being spent to enter the 8600 series. Hopefully GIGABYTE has done big things with the 8500GT and it’s something that we can find ourselves recommending to people."

(09/07) CORE 2 QUAD Q6600 VS CORE 2 DUO E6850 REVIEW AT XBIT LABS - "While AMD keeps postponing the launch of their quad-core processors to the end of this year – beginning of next, Intel Company is offering very affordable quad-core CPUs from Core 2 Quad family. However, can Core 2 Quad processors be regarded as a worthy alternative to popular dual-core solutions?"

(09/07) BIOSHOCK VIDEO CARD PERFORMANCE AT TECHSPOT - "Now, we see how this could become a problem for some. Bioshock will retire most graphics cards, as we have found that even when using low quality visual settings at quite low resolutions, even newer graphics cards such as the GeForce 8600 GTS and Radeon HD 2600XT really struggle to keep up in this game."

(09/07) BIOSHOCK PERFORMANCE AT BIT-TECH - "Following on from our BioShock review, we dive deep into Rapture for a look at the gameplay differences between the PC and X360 versions. We then look at the game's graphics under DX9 and DX10 before evaluating performance on a range of graphics cards and CPUs."
