INTEL CORE i3 2100 CPU REVIEW
"We are testing the Intel Core i3 2100 processor against the AMD Athlon II X3 455 processor. The Intel Core i3 2100 is clocked at 3100Mhz and the AMD Athlon II X3 455 is clocked at 3300Mhz. We will be using Benchmarks for testing the Intel Core i3 2100 and AMD Athlon II X3 455 which are:- Divx, Povray, Sysmark 2007, Windows Media Encoder, Dragon Age Origins and World of Warcraft. The Intel Core i3 2100 has 7% lower clock speed than the AMD Athlon II X3 455 but the Intel Core i3 2100 has 3MB L3 Cache while the AMD Athlon II X3 455 has none. The Intel Core i3 2100 also has Hyper Threading Technology which makes up for it being only Dual Core."

Using general pc use the Intel Core i3 2100 was 15% faster than the AMD Athlon II X3 455. Using games the Intel Core i3 2100 was 24% faster than the AMD Athlon II X3 455 for a good result. However you will pay over 34% more for the Intel Core i3 2100 compared to the AMD Athlon II X3 455 and the difference in performance was at most only 24%. The Intel Core i3 2100 is just a dual core processor with hyper threading technology but it's performance is very good for a dual core processor." |
