COMMENT - "It is obvious that Call of Duty 4 doesn't favour the Pov GeForce GTX 260 which results in the Gainward Radeon HD 4870 outperforming the Pov GeForce GTX 260 by between 1% to 33%."

COMMENT - "The Gainward Radeon HD 4870 starts off strongly beating the Pov GeForce GTX 260 by between 2% to 7%. However when using Extreme Quality settings the advantage switches to the Pov GeForce GTX 260 when it beats the Gainward Radeon HD 4870 by 8%."

COMMENT - "The Pov GeForce GTX 260 puts in a good solid performance beating the Gainward Radeon HD 4870 by 11% to 14%"

FINAL RESULT

COMMENT - "The Pov GeForce GTX 260 is a very fast card which uses the advanced GT200 GPU, the Pov GeForce GTX 260 is really just a GTX 280 which has a slower clock speeds, 2 Texture Processing Units disabled and 2 ROP blocks disabled. The Pov GeForce GTX 260 performed very well and was easily a match for the Gainward Radeon HD 4870. If it was just down to performance then there would be no winner because both the Pov GeForce GTX 260 and Gainward Radeon HD 4870 are excellent video cards. However there is one problem for the Pov GeForce GTX 260 and that is the price, even though the Pov GeForce GTX 260 offers roughly the same performance as the Gainward Radeon HD 4870 the Pov GeForce GTX 260 costs 15% more than the Gainward Radeon HD 4870. This is why I have only scored the Pov GeForce GTX 260 8/10 instead of the 9/10 it deserves because the Gainward Radeon HD 4870 is just a bit cheaper!"
POV GEFORCE GTX 260 SCORES 8/10!
